FAQ
Why Use CBD For My Pet -
CBD is a natural remedy for pets that is becoming very popular. Early research suggests that cannabidiol (CBD) may help pets stay calmer and also helps reduce their joint aches as they age. Many of our customers report that their pets are much calmer after taking CBD.
Are There Any Side Effects?
The side effects of using CBD in animals are very similar to those experienced by humans. The most common issues include changes to appetite, fatigue, and diarrhea. Typically, the higher the CBD dose you give to your pet, the more likely they will have side effects. In most cases, it is not necessary to treat these reactions, as they are generally pretty mild or get better with time. Worst case scenario is your dog may have to "sleep off" the effects of CBD. If these side effects don’t get any better or become more severe, you should contact your pet’s veterinarian. According to studies, Pet CBD generally does not cause any long-term detriments, Similar to humans taking CBD oil.
Will My Pet Get High?
As mentioned earlier, CBD does not cause a “high” or euphoric feeling. If your pet looks like they could be “high” after their dose, there is another reason why this might be happening. Before purchasing any CBD product, carefully read the label for specific information about its contents. If the product is described as “full-spectrum,” this means the product may have up to 0.3% THC in the product — the legal limit according to the Agriculture Improvement Act of 2018. This seemingly small amount could be enough to cause this side effect in your pet, especially if they are extra sensitive to it. All CalmWay's Pawmatrix CBD pet products are zero THC and not "Full Spectrum", so your pet will never get high with our products.
What Is The Proper Dosage For Pet CBD?
While there is no one-size-fits-all dosage for CBD oil, a general guideline to follow is that Pets can take about 1 to 7 mg. of CBD per 10 pounds of body weight daily, with the higher dosage being for more severe health issues. Start low and go slow. It also may help to split the amount in half and give your pet 1/2 in the morning and 1/2 in the afternoon, for example, as always, monitor your pet and use that as your guide. You can increase the amount based on how it's affecting them until the desired results are achieved while monitoring closely to avoid adverse events. Finding the perfect balance of CBD for your dog may take a little while. If you do not see results, increase the dosage slightly and stick to it for a few days. On the other hand, if there are side effects like diarrhea that have been noticed after taking more CBD than usual, then lower down back to what was working before! By following the dosage guidelines above and reading your pet's reaction, you will soon find out the optimum dosage for your pet.
How Can I tell If CBD Is Helping My Pet?
Because our pets cannot tell us whether they are feeling better, the most reliable way to tell if CBD is working is to watch them and their behaviors. After giving a dose of CBD, keep a close eye on your pet to see if their symptoms seem to be improving or not. Depending on the condition your pet has, symptom relief may happen in as soon as 30 minutes or take up to a few weeks of consistent use.
CBD impacts every animal differently.
